Equity in Philanthropy: Acting in an Era of Uncertainty

Thursday, October 19, 2017
Thursday, October 19, 2017, 8:30 AM - 5:15 PM
DESCRIPTION:

Save the date for a special full day workshop on how Oregon and Southwest Washington funders can engage with equity work in the context of today’s changing social climate, both as individuals and as organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life in our region.

Scot Nakagawa of ChangeLab will kick off the day with a breakfast keynote to ground us in the context of our region’s past and present struggles with racism and efforts around diversity, equity, and inclusion. This session will be followed by a Q & A and table discussions, and then we will move on to our lunchtime panel discussion of changing practices in grantmaker-grantee relationships. The afternoon will focus on operationalizing equity in internal and external practices, before we end the day with an informal closing reception.

A full agenda will be available soon; we hope you can join us.

Location: Eliot Center @ First Unitarian Church, 1226 SW Salmon, Portland OR 97205
