We recognize that both the public sector and the philanthropic sector are investing resources in significant regional issues. Whether it is supporting the course of our educational institutions, pursuing affordable housing, and/or building equitable practices in our work, GOSW members are dialed in and influencing significant issues throughout our region
And while those investments are often similar, GOSW is working to create opportunities for our full membership to meet with, ask questions of, and share their best thinking with leaders in the public sector. The GOSW Governor’s Summit with Philanthropy will connect the two sectors in dialogue about what matters to each of them and identify the intersections that naturally occur in our efforts to address community challenges.
In addition to meeting with Governor Brown, the Board of Directors and I will update you on what we are working on at GOSW and how you can engage in the upcoming year, including future dialogues with Oregon and SW Washington leaders, fascinating learning opportunities and our upcoming 2020 GOSW Conference. The Board will also share its goals for Board recruitment.
Finally, NW Natural will host an After Summit Happy Hour for our Summit attendees. We hope that our conversation with the Governor will spark a few ideas, and the Happy Hour will spark a few new friendships as well!
