Lunch Box Learning Session
“Transformative Partnerships Between Nonprofits and Funders”

Following our successful 2018 Conference, “Grantmakers as Changemakers”, GOSW has committed to offering some of the conference sessions that were inspirational and thought-provoking to the entirety of our membership. We are very fortunate to have a broad swath of leaders and teachers from our membership who have a willingness to share their best thinking on relevant and innovative topics, so we are introducing the “Brown Bag Learning Series”.

The first session in our new series is an issue that affects all who work in philanthropy: balancing the relationship between funders and nonprofits. Presented by Stephen Herrera (James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation) and Katie Sawicki (Lead Grassroots Capacity Builder and Public Policy Strategist), “Transformative Partnerships Between Funders and Nonprofits” will explore how, more than ever, developing transformative partnerships between nonprofits and foundations is essential in building a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable Oregon. Supporting the self-determination of grant seekers while creating opportunities for strategic thought partnerships can position foundations to respond to this unique moment in ways that are creative and collaborative.
