Ron King, former Western Family Foods CEO, to serve as Murdock Trust Visiting Fellow
VANCOUVER, WA — Ron King, former CEO of Western Family Foods, will serve as the new visiting fellow at M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust.
King recently left a successful career in the food industry, where he led Western Family Foods for 20 years. He has held a number of leadership positions and served on several nonprofit boards. King graduated from Washington State University and the Stanford Executive Program. He resides in Cedar Mill with his wife, Pam, with whom he has two adult daughters.
“We are privileged to have such an outstanding community leader as Ron King join our work,” said Steve Moore, executive director of the Murdock Trust. “Ron has invested deeply in the nonprofit community as a volunteer with health, mental health and international relief. He has great insight and understanding of how the business, nonprofit, educational and philanthropic communities work together, and he will be a tremendous resource for our work and that of our constituencies.”
The visiting scholar/fellow program provides an opportunity for individuals with professional expertise and distinction to connect with the Murdock Trust and enrich its mission and the constituencies it serves. Visiting scholars/fellows are provided a space of work at the Murdock Trust for professional renewal and development, and they are given the opportunity to advise the Murdock Trust on areas and sectors of key interest. They may convene professionals and colleagues in their areas of expertise for conversation and connection and serve as a resource in the region by speaking, presenting or serving in other ways.
