Women’s Technical Assistance Fund

Those agencies that receive Women’s Care Foundation funding are also able to apply for a grant under the Technical Assistance Fund administered by the Nonprofit Association of Oregon, formerly known as TACS.

The Nonprofit Association of Oregon provides assistance to nonprofit organizations to help them develop the people and skills they need to achieve their missions. The Nonprofit Association of Oregon has provided training and/or consultation for over 3,000 nonprofits throughout Oregon and Washington and provides workshops, networks, and consultations on financial management, board development, strategic planning, building diversity, organizational development, and leadership issues.

Fast Facts about the Women’s Technical Assistance Fund:

On October 12, 2000 Women’s Care Foundation and Portland Women’s Union Foundation joined to establish Women’s Technical Assistance Fund beginning 2001-2002 with an initial contribution of $2080.

The fund offers two types of grants. Consulting grants require a match by the applying organization. The consulting work may be done by any consultant as long as appropriate references are provided. Networks/Workshop grants do not require a match, but they cover only Nonprofit Association of Oregon Network memberships and workshops. The fund doesn’t cover other open training outside Nonprofit Association of Oregon services.
To determine the amount contributed to Women’s Technical Assistance Fund for fund and fund administration the formula used is 5% of the average for the last 3 years grant total from the two foundations involved.
