A Message from Our Board President

Dear GOSW Members,

By now, we hope that you have received the announcement that our President & CEO, Kendall Clawson will be leaving GOSW for an incredible opportunity with Group Health Foundation. For the nearly 4 years that Kendall has been with GOSW, the Board of Directors has had the pleasure of working side by side with Kendall as she restructured and grew the organization. In partnership with our amazing staff, Mark McCrary and Chris Comis, Kendall has guided our work in order to help us carry out our mission, and as she departs, we are solid and we are strong. I know that you will join me in thanking Kendall for all of her hard work and wishing her well on her next adventure.

As we begin the journey to find our next CEO, the GOSW Board of Directors is committed to leading a positive and focused search process that we hope will yield an innovative and forward-thinking leader for our next chapter. We are thrilled that our Vice President, Jackie Murphy of the Collins Foundation, has graciously stepped forward to lead our President & CEO Search Committee, so we are in very good hands under her leadership. Planning is already underway, and our members can anticipate receiving information and a link to the job description in the upcoming week. We encourage you to help us identify great candidates that you believe will not only support our mission but will continue our work in embedding equity in philanthropy. This is a core component of who we are as an organization, so we will look forward to receiving your suggestions for folks who are steeped in their equity practice.

On behalf of the GOSW Board and staff, I want to thank you for your membership and for your support of our organization. We will keep you up-to-date on our progress, and I look forward to sharing the good news of our new CEO in the coming months.

Best regards,

Mary Edmeades, President
GOSW Board of Directors
