Reviewing grants can be a tedious and confusing task, especially when there are a lot of financial reports and numbers to figure out. All of the information is important but where do you begin?

Understanding Nonprofit Financials, is part of the GOSW Virtual Fundamental Series for philanthropy. In this workshop, you will get an overview of financial processes and why they are important, a break-down of financial statements and the secrets they reveal and finally, what budgets, financial statements and Form 990 really says about a nonprofit organization. This workshop is led by two experts in the nonprofit accounting field.

For more than 25 years, Cheryl Olson, has dedicated her career to the not-for-profit sector as a volunteer, consultant, Assistant Executive Director, CFO, auditor and tax accountant. Cheryl is Clark Nuber’s not-for-profit solutions strategist and specializes in governance oversight training and operational and financial process assessments.

Candace “Candi” Avery, is a shareholder in the Clark Nuber’s Audit and Assurance Services Group and a member of the Not-for-Profit Services Group. Her emphasis is not-for-profit organizations including foundations, research institutes, healthcare, schools, social services agencies, associations and arts organizations.
