Senior/Older Adults Collaborative

Tuesday, March 02, 2021
March 2, 2021 2:30-3:30pm

In less than a decade, the 75+ age group living in Oregon will grow 85% representing a significant shift in how services need to be provided for this population. The Senior/Older Adult Collaborative is a space for funders who are interested in learning more about how we might meet this challenge today to have a brighter future tomorrow. This meeting will initiate a focused effort to bring together philanthropy and government to build a Master Plan on Aging for Oregon. The Master Plan will serve as a blueprint that can be used by state government, local communities, private organizations and philanthropy to build environments that promote an age friendly Oregon. The collaborative will examine how philanthropy took a leadership role in the development of Master Plans on Aging in other states such as California, Minnesota and Colorado. Attendees will discuss and brainstorm initial next steps to strategize what might work in Oregon.

Collaboratives and affinity groups are a service of Grantmakers of Oregon and SW Washington to encourage and support collaborations among funders around topics of specific interest. Anyone wanting to join can contact  mmccrary@gosw.org.
