Sohel Hussain Named Meyer Memorial Trust’s New Director of Investment Operations

Hussain was middle office manager for North America at PIMCO

PORTLAND, OR, April 20, 2021 – Sohel Hussain has joined Meyer Memorial Trust, which has an endowment of approximately $1B USD, as the first ever Director of Investment Operations. Hussain most recently oversaw the Middle Office team at PIMCO, a global investment management firm focusing on active fixed income management. He brings a decade of experience in operations, trade support, cash management and project management. The selection was made after a national search and selection process managed by Motus Recruiting.

Hussain has extensive experience managing the “middle office” – the work that moves forward the investment process and provides critical information to fiduciaries and stakeholders. As Director of Investment Operations, he will be responsible for strengthening partnerships and improving workflow in this area among Meyer’s operations, accounting, information technology and communications teams.

“We are thrilled to announce Sohel Hussain as Meyer’s new Director of Investment Operations as we continue to formalize and professionalize our investment operations,” said Michelle J. DePass, president and CEO of Meyer Memorial Trust. “Sohel is a proven leader who will guide Meyer in our dedicated support for communities across Oregon through strong alignment between our investments and values.”

He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Hofstra University’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business and is completing a Masters of Liberal Arts in Finance at Harvard University.

Hussain said, “As someone who is very passionate about connecting investment with values, I’m excited to join the Meyer team. My background connects well with Meyer’s mission to invest in the organizations, communities and people building an equitable future for Oregon.”

He began work at Meyer in April.
